Hydro-X was established in early 2004 in Fair Haven, Michigan with two trucks and a support van. Today, we operate out of two locations in Michigan (Fair Haven and Webberville) and have a fleet of six Hydro Excavators and support units to assist you in any task that utilizes hydro excavation.

Hydro-X provides our clients with highly knowledgeable and trained union crews and a comprehensive, well-maintained fleet of equipment that can deal with all aspects of hydro excavation. Since our crew is cross-trained in both Hydro-X and traditional excavation techniques, they are able to handle just about any situation that may arise on your job site.

Through its affiliation with M. L. Chartier, Inc., Hydro-X has access to the knowledge and resources of a company with nearly 60 years of experience in excavating and environmental cleanup. Founded in 1954, its early projects included construction of roadways, culverts, and sewer systems. In the late 1950’s it began working in the oil fields for Panhandle Eastern, Sun Oil, Michigan Consolidated Gas, and Consumers Power Company, and then expanded its services to include demolition of buildings, clearing land, and building containment structures. In the early 1980’s, M.L. Chartier, Inc. further expanded into the environmental industry. Early projects involved lagoon closures, tank removals, and contaminated soil excavation. Its client base extends to engineering firms, government and private industry.
